After 114 days in the NICU, Ethan came home yesterday! He is doing well and seems to enjoy his new home. He quickly made himself at home by having a blow out in his going home outfit shortly after arriving :) At least he made it through the car ride.
He is still being fed through an NG tube because he was aspirating when he ate from a bottle, and because of that he also has a monitor. He's enjoying all the new amenities, the quiet, and his new doggy (who is very protective of him). He now weighs a little over 7lbs...a far cary from his birth weight of 1lb 6oz.
We are so incredibly happy that the NICU journey is over for Ethan and he is finally home! He is a true miracle and we are looking forward to watching him continue to grow and develop right here with us.
In other news, Caleb is scheduled to come home early next week as well, so look out for another homecoming post soon!
Thank you all so much for your prayers and support. We know that all of the love that has been sent to these boys over the past 4 months has helped them get to where they are. We've been told that it's pretty uncommon for 25 week preemies to go home as early as they are (less than 2 weeks past their due date) and in as good of a condition as they are, but with your help, Ethan and Caleb have done it!
Super special thanks to all of Ethan and Caleb's doctors and nurses (we know some of you are following this). You are all truly amazing at what you do and even more amazing people. What you have done for these boys will not ever be forgotten. You have been a blessing to our entire family.
