Caleb Updates & Ethan News

Hi Everybody,

After going through several tests over the past couple of days, it appears that Caleb's recent struggles are due to an infection he got from one of his IV's. His CT scan and EEG came back normal and his PDA (what causes the heart murmer) has closed. He has already been put on two different antibiotics to try and get rid of the infection, and will remain on them for at least the next two weeks. Right now, he is stable again, but not as active as he used to be because of all the medicine he is on. Hopefully he will fight back this infection over the next couple of weeks and get back to growing and developing!

Ethan is continuing to do well overall, but his PDA has opened back up and two rounds of medicine have not seemed to help. So he is scheduled to undergo a procedure on Wednesday, March 17th where they will go in and tie it closed. This is a bit scary to Mom and Dad because it means they are going to enter from his side and be doing this right next to his heart. The doctors have said that it is not an uncommon procedure for preemies and that they have a lot of experience with it, but that only helps a little when it is your son facing it, so please keep him in your prayers on Wednesday.
