Two Weeks Old

Hi All,

Well the boys were two weeks yesterday and we have been enjoying every day with them and loving all the little cute things they do.

They are definitely brothers as Caleb decided to voluntarily take out his ventilator tube Tuesday night and then Ethan did the same thing yesterday morning. Ethan was taken off the ventilator for about four hours yesterday before they put him back on as he seemed to be wearing out. Caleb is on alittle higher of settings and with being treated for other things they are going to keep him on for now.

They had their weights taken on Tuesday night and Ethan gained 50 grams and is up to 1lb 9.4 oz now and Caleb gained 60 grams and is up to 1lb 11oz now. They will be weighted again tonight.

Caleb has been needing some extra care this week. He has had to get blood and more platelets the past three days. He also has some extra fluid that he is retaining in his lungs and body and so he is alittle puffy and they are trying to give his medication to help this. The extra fluid could also be a contributor of some of the weight gain he just had.

Both of the boys finished up their second round of heart murmur medication this week and will be having echocardiograms in the next few days to check on the status of the PDA. We are praying that this round will close the PDA to where they wouldn't have to have another round or possibly surgery.
